Hi everyone, My wife surprised me this last weekend with a quick get-a-way to the Mercersburg Inn, even though it rained on Saturday, we enjoyed just hanging around the Inn and relaxing after a nice breakfast on the enclosed porch. The rooms were real nice with canopy beds and our second floor room had a nice view out the double doors down to the front yard. Our room was the one in the middle behind the four columns, it used to be the “dressing room” it made many a hotel suite look small with plenty of closet space. The Innkeepers were a very nice couple with very nice, polite and friendly staff. Sunday, after we left the Inn, we drove around the Mercersburg Academy, what a beautiful Prep-school. In the background of this picture on the main campus is their beautiful church overlooking the academy. We drove under the the shade of tree lined roads around campus, then headed back to Maryland. Before we left we even found President’s Buchanan’s small log cabin in a small shaded park like area on the campus. When you compare it next to the Church, I think you could probably pick it up and carry it through the front doors of the church, that is how small it was. Needless to say it was a one room gray log cabin. IBCNU Joe

Help spread the word and have fun doing it, too!
I am very close publishing my second book in my Old Testament series this weekend, “Old Testament Word Search Fun! Book 2” subtitled “Book of Genesis Chapters 28 to 50”. Not sure if the Large Print version or Paperback version will appear first because it seems to be a race to see which one I finish first? I think it will be the Large Print edition this time. LoL
In case you’re wondering about the basic process I follow:
First, I register my work on-line with the US ECO Copyright Office. After you register your work with them, you are free to publish your work, the following day.
Second, Yesterday, I started the separate on-line publication process with the Amazon subsidiary, to get it published on Amazon.com: I set my book title up, got an ISBN number, uploaded the interior text file, did the initial electronic proof reading of it, built the cover, and then submitted it to for review. It usually takes 24 hours for the CreateSpace.com staff to review and approve it. Once approved … I’ll do one last proof read of it again and then give it the final approval. Unless I find a typo hiding somewhere between the pages. Then I correct it and repeat the process again. Once approved, the book will appear miraculously on Amazon.com within 3 days. So far the majority of my books have made it up there in a day or two … knock on wood.
Well I hope I didn’t get to technical this time, and you enjoyed reading about the basics of what goes on in the background.
Have a nice day
It was a beautifully quiet weekend with nice weather, so I mostly worked on the Honey Do list for my lovely wife, and also had a chance to work on my books early in the mornings. As I wake up early most days, this weekend was no exception, just as today is no exception. Waking up early gives me a chance to work on a couple of extra things towards publishing my next book, it is something I can quietly do while the rest of my world sleeps.
Which reminds me: early on Saturday, even though it is dated the 14th, I actually released for sale the “Large Print New Testament Word Search Fun! Book 2: Gospel of Mark”. So you may ask why is it dated the 14th? Well the publishing date is automatically generated when you select the ISBN number on CreateSpace.com and not the day you actually release the book to Amazon.
May this week be a nice week for all of us!
It has been a real busy week, I set up the beginnings of my Gift Shop and added the first products there: coffee mugs, still can’t get there … almost, maybe next week. If you will excuse the pun: but I am still trying to get a handle on this, so this is a work in progress with 4 coffee mugs and lots of hope and ideas for other products and art work.
Next …Well I did it! published my second book in my “New Testament Word Search Book” series, it took me numerous revisions to finalize it this time, well over the seven days of creation, so I am definitely human and prone to errors. It will always amaze me how after you think you have finally got all of the double words, and indents out of a book, there is always one last one that you missed, but this time … I think I got all of them LoL :>)
So for your word search pleasure my “New Testament Word Search Fun! Book 2 Gospel of Mark” is now available on Amazon. And I am now finalizing the “Large Print New Testament Word Search Fun! Book 2 Gospel of Mark” book, which will be published in the next week. Still working on my newsletter, it’s not yet ready yet. Thank you for visiting my blog and may you have a great weekend, IBCNU Joe Wocoski
I’m getting closer and closer to publishing the second book in my New Testament series next week.
Another Thursday has rolled around, and this week I am deep into my volunteer Baldrige Conference Review work and expect to finish up by the weekend. Earlier this week, I registered, my next book in my New Testament Word Search Fun! Series with the Copyright Office, and this weekend I plan to start the self-publishing process. So by early next week my next book will be available to everyone on Amazon. And yes I’ll need to add it to my website, too, so you can all see it.
In the past, I have heard quite a bit of “Oh! You don’t have to, or don’t need to copyright your work, because it is copyrighted at the time of publication.” I disagree with this attitude vehemently! Believe it or not, registering your work with the Copyright Office is one of your Constitutional Rights, and by not registering your work there, you actually give up one of your basic and most fundamental Constitutional Rights. I have been thinking of writing an e-line article on this. Maybe later this year I will, a nice long title for it would be “Our Freedom of Property Ownership and the Importance of Copyright Registration” hmmm … this seems a bit long for a title and sounds a bit stuffy, too … LoL I’ll have to work on it.
I hope you all had a nice 4th of July and were able to do a picnic or barbecue with your family, as we did this year, without fear of Hurricane Arthur. The weather here in northern Maryland turned gorgeous after a day of thunderstorms and rain on Thursday as Hurricane Arthur did not really touch here. However,we did get an awful lot of residual rain as it passed us by out to sea, only to come back on to New England.
Looking on line, I read and saw the pictures of the flooding it seems “Hurricane Arthur made it all the way up coast to southeast Canada with heavy rain and strong winds, leaving 250,000 homes and businesses without power, as the storm swept away from New England.” For a storm that wasn’t supposed to cause much damage, there sure seemed to have been an awful lot of flooding north and south of us.
In any event, it has been a nice cool weekend for us to enjoy here; yesterday, during an evening walk on the walking trail, I came upon two deer enjoying the clover in the backyard of one of my neighbors. I quietly observed this pastoral scene, and thought how fortunate we are (see video).
