I hope you’re weathering this storm, today. Storm Damon is slamming the Northeast with Snow, Heavy Rain, High Winds, Coastal Flooding. I’m originally from Southern New England, so my heart goes out to all of you who have or are enduring this storm. At 7:00 am in Maryland, where I live, it’s cold and dank and 32 degrees, raining like the dickens in a continuous downpour with a mixture of rain and freezing rain with an occasional wind gust. It’s not fit for man or beast outside, so I guess it’s a good day to curl up with a good word search book.
It’s not a good day to walk your dog, either; we have a Shiba Inu. They are bred with two layers of soft and thick fur for cold weather, but ours doesn’t appreciate all this rain, and knowing her … she won’t want to be out long in it, and I already know she wants to sleep in, or maybe binge watch Lassie in her dreams.
Tonight and tomorrow the weathermen are predicting more wind. So in case of a power failure, I think it is a good idea to pull out of storage a few extra flashlights and candles and put them in convenient locations. Don’t forget to charge your tablets, cell phones and rechargeable flashlights. Last year I downloaded a light app for my kindle and it came in handy, but we charged up and mostly relied on our large emergency flashlight, and very carefully, some candles.
Best of luck today, may God be with all of you and see you safely through this storm.
