Hi everyone, My wife surprised me this last weekend with a quick get-a-way to the Mercersburg Inn, even though it rained on Saturday, we enjoyed just hanging around the Inn and relaxing after a nice breakfast on the enclosed porch. The rooms were real nice with canopy beds and our second floor room had a nice view out the double doors down to the front yard. Our room was the one in the middle behind the four columns, it used to be the “dressing room” it made many a hotel suite look small with plenty of closet space. The Innkeepers were a very nice couple with very nice, polite and friendly staff. Sunday, after we left the Inn, we drove around the Mercersburg Academy, what a beautiful Prep-school. In the background of this picture on the main campus is their beautiful church overlooking the academy. We drove under the the shade of tree lined roads around campus, then headed back to Maryland. Before we left we even found President’s Buchanan’s small log cabin in a small shaded park like area on the campus. When you compare it next to the Church, I think you could probably pick it up and carry it through the front doors of the church, that is how small it was. Needless to say it was a one room gray log cabin. IBCNU Joe

Thank you for visiting today, have a great weekend.
I hope you all had a nice 4th of July and were able to do a picnic or barbecue with your family, as we did this year, without fear of Hurricane Arthur. The weather here in northern Maryland turned gorgeous after a day of thunderstorms and rain on Thursday as Hurricane Arthur did not really touch here. However,we did get an awful lot of residual rain as it passed us by out to sea, only to come back on to New England.
Looking on line, I read and saw the pictures of the flooding it seems “Hurricane Arthur made it all the way up coast to southeast Canada with heavy rain and strong winds, leaving 250,000 homes and businesses without power, as the storm swept away from New England.” For a storm that wasn’t supposed to cause much damage, there sure seemed to have been an awful lot of flooding north and south of us.
In any event, it has been a nice cool weekend for us to enjoy here; yesterday, during an evening walk on the walking trail, I came upon two deer enjoying the clover in the backyard of one of my neighbors. I quietly observed this pastoral scene, and thought how fortunate we are (see video).
Sunday, 4:30AM … Awakened by the house shaking from a loud BOOM! The air conditioner stopped and total darkness engulfed us. The hall and night lights disappeared into a blackened world void of light, not two hours before dawn. Even the LED alarm clock was dead, leaving us in total darkness. Now I am sitting up in bed unable to sleep. Within a matter of minutes we heard the siren call of the police cars, fire trucks and rescue vehicles rushing to a vehicle shattered by a pole about a hundred yards up the road from us, at the corner of the main road and the entrance to our development. Once again a reckless drive has plunged his vehicle head long into that solid pine power pole, at the intersection, severing it from the ground, as if cut by a knife. This poor power pole has just been hit for the second time, in as many years, at the entrance to our development on what is without a doubt a fairly straight road. The last time it happened, it was a dump truck, the driver uninjured; the paper stated that the police had estimated that driver had been doing 70. This time, I would soon find out the police would not let anyone near the site. It was now 5 O’clock and I was wide awake and without power and not knowing when it would return. How was I going to finish my Baldrige Independent Review today? I had set aside today to finish up Section Seven, the Results; even under the best of circumstances it would take me most of the day. I drove to my office and spent the day in solitude, working on it. I finished well before the midnight deadline. And that is how I spent last Sunday. IBCNU Joe Wocoski
Good Evening Everyone,
Today is Friday the thirteenth and somewhere on our small world the Full Moon is shining brightly tonight. However, in my small part of the world it is overly dark outside with a rainy overcast sky and no way for me to see the Full Moon tonight.
It has been a bit of a hectic week for me. At night, at home was the only time I got to work on my books and web site. Mostly, this week I was busy working on the back end of my web site and getting the Newsletter subscription up and running. It now works, so anyone who would like to receive it please do try it out. I have not yet decided if my newsletter will be a weekly or monthly, yet. However, I did decide to send out the first Newsletter sometime in July, for your reading pleasure, so you still will have plenty of time to sign up for it.
Coming Soon! This week, I completed the second book in my “New Testament Word Search Book” series and named it, “New Testament Word Search Fun! Book 2 Gospel of Mark” Within the next two weeks, for your word search pleasure, I plan to have a free sample of the first five word search pages up on my site, and the entire book for sale on Amazon. I hope you all enjoy it.
May you all have a Happy Father’s Day!
And get to see a baseball game:>)
Hi! I’m Joe and welcome to my world.
Yes, I’m an independent author and this is my Blog. In the weeks to come you will find many different and possibly intriguing items posted on it for your reading and interactive pleasure. My Newsletter and other charming surprises are on the way, so please check back every few days to see how I am doing on entertaining you. One of the pages I’ll be building is my own Wocopedia page (My About page) and My Books.
As you can see, my web site is currently and temporarily a work in progress, under construction and like any new home has more than enough empty rooms just waiting to be filled with interesting words, photos an occasionally video, or a poem or two and maybe even some short stories and fiction, and of course my books that I am publishing, etc …
I hope you enjoyed your first walkabout through the mostly empty rooms of my web site.
Yes there is more to come, to say the least so please do come on back for a visit.
Take care hope to see you again soon, and please do have a nice day It’s almost TGIF.
